Austin Custom Brass "Doubler's Series" Cornet
We're excited to offer this great entry level cornet in our ever-popular ACB Doubler's line of instruments! This cornet has a yellow brass bell (4.685 inches) and a .459 bore. The slightly smaller bell and bore make these horns easy to switch to from your trumpet or flugel work. All ACB Doubler's horns come with our Precision Valve Alignment and are play-tested before shipping. This is the best value cornet you can find! The horn comes with a nice Pro-Tec style gig bag and a stock mouthpiece.
The ACB Doubler's Cornet is a great way to expand your musicianship and get into cornet playing at a reasonable price!

Doublers Cornet
Great cornet, excellent price and above average quality workmanship. nice to take on the road rather then a pocket trumpet.

Better Than Expected
I needed a cornet for a show. I looked around at inexpensive pre-owned but decided I wanted something ready to go right out of the box instead of taking a chance on something I would need to put more time and money into. It was Trent’s video that sold me, especially the part about tweaking it at the shop. I, and my teacher, were concerned about a Chinese-made horn. But trusting in what Trent said and how he sounded on the video, we were both impressed after playing the horn (my teacher plays trumpet and cornet professionally). The Doubler has good intonation and nice valve action. I prefer my own cornet mpc to the one that comes with the Doubler. I can get a very nice cornety tone out of it. Also, as Trent says, the ML bore facilitates switching from ML trumpet and once you get the hang of not muscling it, it responds nicely in the upper register. I bought the Doubler to double, but I think I will be using it in other settings as well. Also, kudos to Trent and his co-workers who offer great customer service. They do a great job communicating before during and after the sale. Good horn, good price, better than expected.

Fun doubler with versatility
I’ve had he chance to play this horn for a few hours now on a few gigs and it plays very well. No unusual tuning quirks. I just needed to dial in the tuning to me once I got used to it. It has a great sound (I use the ACB MV3CS-C with it) and has an easy blow. I wanted a cornet for a Dixie group I gig with and this fits the bill perfectly. The guys all liked the sound and look of it, it is lighter and more compact than my trumpet and makes me feel more comfortable playing at outside venues due to it being easy on the wallet god forbid anything happened to it. The slightly smaller bore size (compared to the dual trigger) is definitely appreciated when carrying the melody tune after tune.

ACB Doublers Cornet
I bought the Doublers Cornet in the brushed satin finish and it sounds as nice as it looks. I use a deep Yamaha 14E mouthpiece and get a gorgeous, dark sound. Great horn for brass band. Sometimes I play the cornet instead of my flugelhorn in the church orchestra. I just ordered a Doublers Flugelhorn in the same finish and can’t wait to play it.

ACB Model Doublers Cornet
Great little cornet with a distinct, warm, cornet sound when I use my deeper cup Back 5A mouthpiece. I already own a vintage Conn Victor 5A ( also bought from Trent ) but it is a large bore and I find it a tad difficult at times when switching between it and my medium large bore trumpets , so the medium large bore ACB doubler seemed the perfect solution and it is. Highly recommended and at this amazingly low price, it is an unbeatable value.

Great Horn at at Great Price!
I liked the ACB doubler flugelhorn so much, I bought the ACB doubler cornet. The cornet is well made, with smooth pistons, good intonation and a fat sound. A lot of fun to play. I especially like the feel of the medium large bore. Best of all, both ACB doubler horns have already paid for themselves!

Great Budget Cornet
If you're looking for a SUPER affordable cornet, don't waste your time looking at old and mystery-brand cornets on the internet. Trent has taken a really basic, but custom and well-made Chinese horn and tweaked it so that it plays as well as a horn that costs many times its price. It's got a tight bore and small bell, so it responds rapidly and requires little effort. The sound is warm and characteristically cornet-like. This is not a professional-line cornet. But it will definitely get the job done if you are only using it for a few things--like if it's required for some doubling in a pit orchestra, or a for orchestral excerpts, or to work on an Arban solo, etc. It's hard to tell from the photos and description, but it also comes with a nice, rigid case, a mouthpiece, and cleaning cloth. Also, the leadpipe is actually a beautiful rose brass.

Excellent Value for the $
I needed a cornet to replace a well worn LA Olds, at this point I couldn't justify rebuilding the Olds or spending alot of money on a new horn. Having read the great reviews for the ACB Doublers Flugel I took the oppurtunity to try the cornet recently at Trents display at the NTC. The cornet plays well and intonation is very good. Surely Trents "tweaks" have also helped in what I have found to be an excellent value, the rose brass leadpipe is also a nice touch. I purchased the cornet on the spot and have been very pleased with the results!
