    Adams CN1 cornet

Posted by Sandy Middleton on 16th Nov 2023

This is a "gem" of a horn.Beautiful silver plating.Awesome valve action.I am just an amateur musician, but have been playing trumpet & cornet for 60+ years. This horn is very free blowing and has a nice, round sound. The tuning slide trigger is an ingenious idea.I had trouble with the trigger hanging up sometimes when I first got the horn, but after a good many hours of playing, oiling and using the trigger it has started to get more free.I guess it just needed to be broken in.I play trumpet in 2 university/community bands and church orchestra.I have also recently joined the South Carolina Brass Band and am enjoying playing my CN1 with them and looking forward to going to NABBA 2024 in the Spring!I have prchased 3 horns from ACB this year...a Manchester Brass flugel, the CN1 and Trent's "Coppernicus" trumpet. The folks at ACB are super nice, very knowledgeable and easy to talk to.Kyle helped me with all 3 of my purchases and I also talked to Eric and Josh on a few follow up calls.

This is perhaps the finest cornet I've ever played. The build quality is excellent. Intonation is spot on. I really enjoy playing it.
