Blow Dry Brass
One of the greatest products I've seen in a long time... this WORKS!
Here's a recent (11/20/20) review!
Made for musicians by a musician
Everything needed to maintain a clean, pristine instrument & mouthpiece daily resides in this small pouch that easily fits into a gig bag for on the road and everyday practice sessions.
New & Revolutionary
This is NOT a cleaning product, but a drying product to be used on a clean horn once a day after your last session.
BlowDry Brass dries out a CLEAN instrument & mouthpiece after use, thus KEEPING them CLEAN. This maintenance system eliminates the need to continually bathe your instrument, or use traditional brass cleaning products. Works for most small & medium bore instruments & associated mouthpieces (kit good for about 1 year).
How BlowDry Brass works
The isopropyl alcohol drench of the loaded foam BIT causes it to expand to approximately twice its size. This greatly enhances its pliability to move through the horn & to absorb moisture. Moisture left in the throat & backbore of a mouthpiece after use is wicked out by the cotton filled ramrod.
Use BlowDry Brass once you have cleaned your horn.
Using BlowDry Brass on a clean horn after playing removes nearly all of the moisture in the tubing & piston ports, thus eliminating the conditions that cause a horn to get dirty. This also eliminates the “Petri dish” environment that an unmaintained horn creates, which allows mold & bacteria build up in your horn. BlowDry Brass maintains a “healthy” horn (Brass Instruments Can Cause Lung Disease & Kids’ musical instruments booming with bacteria)
BlowDry Brass was developed by a brass player for brass players.
Enjoy the benefits of playing a clean horn everyday . BlowDry Brass keeps your equipment performing to factory specifications.

Refills for this kit are available (10 BITs & 1 ramrod).

BLOWDRY BRASS
A few weeks ago, Josh, a member of the staff at Trent Austin recommended BlowDry Brass as an excellent product to use to keep my horn clean. He couldn’t have been more right and I’m so grateful to him for the tip. The product is simple to use and the easily accessed videos provide clear instruction as to how best to use it. The one thing to remember is that you have to start out with a clean horn for the product to work as intended. But if you take the time to clean your horn before using BlowDry the first time you may never have to clean it again! I’ll be using it religiously from now on and throwing out a bunch of rags, brushes and swabs that I won’t be needing in the future. If you try it and follow the instructions I feel sure you’ll be satisfied with the end result.

Easiest way to keep your horn clean
Easiest way to keep your horn clean and maintained. I've been very impressed so far as it's hard to find a product that is so simple yet very effective. If you don't have this kit, it's almost a necessity to have in your daily routine

Blow Dry Brass
This works really well on a piston Courtois 155r flugelhorn and an old rotary kuhlohorn. My concerns about the bits getting stuck were groundless as the foam is soft and very flexible. As far as the way the method works this is a 5* product. But it is really very expensive considering the materials, especially for a Brit who cannot access it anywhere at home. 10 bits, enough rubbing alcohol to load a single bit, (you have to buy your own as soon as you run dry which is within a week) a tiny plastic ‘jar’ for the bit, so small it makes picking the bit out and squeezing the excess alcohol into it quite difficult. Oh and a piece of old fashion tobacco pipe cleaner for drying the mouthpiece and pushing the bit into the lead pipe. 22 dollars! But it works well, dries out the horn internally and really helps prevent mould, bacteria and the gunk that can so easily accumulate. I’m awaiting a brand new 4 valve kuhlohorn from Germany in the next few months and intend to use the Blow Dry system from the start. I guess you have to ignore the fact that the actual materials cost less than a dollar: it’s a great idea and it works. I recommend it. Someone had to develop the idea etc so it’s hard to begrudge them their profit. But I’m very glad I didn’t have to pay mrsp, which is, I think outrageous. As for dealing with ACB, I couldn’t recommend them more highly: attentive, speedy responses to queries and quick dispatch.

Great product! Only takes a few minutes to clean your horn after playing and totally worth it.

Keepin’ it clean
I like that with a couple of minutes after practice I can keep my trumpet very clean all the time. I feel good about using this - did not like the gunk build-up…

Blowdry Brass
ACB sent this along with my new horn. I can't say how well it works long term, but it really seems to remove moisture, which should limit the environment needed for gunk to develop.
