Wow, these Carl Fischer mouthpieces are COMFORTABLE! It is an amazing rim contour and they feel wonderful. Of course, the craftsmanship (made by GR) is impeccable. The inner diameter is smaller than a typical 3C, but the comfort is much higher. Carl describes the rim as a "flat, wide, and non-injuring contour with a high Alpha Angle;" while the CF Jazz cup is "Very open and free blowing. Closest feel and sound to a 3C. Great for a player to switch over to, even for a younger player currently playing on a conventional mouthpiece." The CF Jazz is matched to the GR 3 backbore.
