Wow, these Carl Fischer mouthpieces are COMFORTABLE! It is an amazing rim contour and they feel wonderful. Of course, the craftsmanship (made by GR) is impeccable. The inner diameter is smaller than a typical 3C, but the comfort is much higher. Carl describes the rim as a "flat, wide, and non-injuring contour with a high Alpha Angle;" while the CF JRII cup is a "Perfect blend between the CF Signature Jazz and the CF Signature FischLips, and is recommended for players having trouble deciding between those two models. It has a HUGE sound that fills stadiums and arenas, but doesn’t kill you while you’re doing it!" The CF JRII/JR2/JRW is matched to the GR 3 backbore.
