Extremely rare 1940 Medium bore Buescher True Tone 274 Model 400 Cornet in Silver Plate
This is quite a find! This one just came back to us from our friends at Heritage Music Repair and it's a beauty! Silver plated and plays just great. This is the rarest of the 400 models the medium bore version. This is the only one I have ever seen through my years and I have collected a lot of these horns. These are my favorite vintage designed horns and incorporate the art-deco style that was prevalent during the time period.
The valves have a little compression loss and could benefit with a rebuild eventually but still feel great with a thicker oil like Berp Bio #3 (green bottle).
Features:
- Valve block soldered directly to the bell and leadpipe
- Art-deco design
- Internally threaded top and bottom valve caps
- Reverse wrap
- Reverse 1st, 2nd, and 3rd slides
- Trombone style water keys
