Every Adams Custom Series instrument is completely handcrafted in the Netherlands.
The Adams Custom Series Custom Series cornet has an easy and responsive articulation. The typical "big, round" sound, blends smoothly into any orchestral environment. The instrument has a large bore (12 mm), short stroke valves and a medium heavy valve cluster and buttons, offering a superb sound quality.
This Particular horn was a part of Trent's personal collection however he has decided to part ways with it. It is in great shape and does present a few minor signs of use. The Lacquer has a few spots of imperfection particularly on the bell stem. and the name Michael R. Baker is engraved into the bottom part of leadpipe that receives the main tuning slide. (Fun Fact: Michael Baker sits 3rd trumpet in the Philadelphia Orchestra (as of this listing date) and is a world class brass bander in his own right). Beyond these minor cosmetic blemishes this horn looks fantastic and plays amazingly. There are no dents, dings or scratches on this instrument. The valves also work great with excellent action and compression. The slides also move smoothly and comfortably. Do not miss out on this wonderful horn!
Of the two cornets that Adams builds, the CN1 is a true wind- & fanfareband instrument adding warmth and softness to the trumpet section and expand the register's sound idiom. More and more composers are writing for trumpet/cornet. The instrument with short-action valves and shepherd's crook has a very direct articulation and responds easily in all registers.
