Here's a King SilverSonic cornet from the late 1960s with the iconic "underslung" wrap design and a Sterling silver bell! This cornet has some signs of use, with some scratching on the leadpipe and various small dings throughout the horn. See pictures for more detail of the condition of the horn. The valves feel great and have fantastic compression with a heavier oil like Berp Bio 3.
These SilverSonic Cornets originated from the King Master model design, and the name change designated the different construction or alloy material used during production. The first King Master model cornet entered production in about 1916. The King Master Model Cornet was an instant hit and next to the King Liberty Model Trumpet was one of the most widely produced valved cornets made by King. Most production units were medium bore in the later years. The King Master model underwent many improvements, the biggest coming in 1934. The addition of a Sterling Silver bell sets these cornets apart from all others, and has some of the best engraving for a production cornet. The 1963 Master Model Cornet remained unchanged until the company was sold in 1965. It was sometime between 1965 and 1970 that the name SilverSonic became the new moniker. This horn is a timeless classic and would be a great addition to any collectors arsenal!
