Pre-Owned NYTC "stage 1" Flugelhorn in Satin Lacquer

New York Trumpet Company "Stage 1" Flugelhorn!

Check out this NYTC Flugelhorn in satin lacquer that's recently arrived in the shop! This horn is beautiful however it does show some signs of use. there is a scratch and dent in the bell flare and some slight lacquer wear on the usual flugelhorn contact points (See pictures for details). Beyond these cosmetic blemishes this horn is in wonderful playing condition! The valve action is smooth as you would expect and the slides move comfortably. Don't miss an excellent opportunity to great this excellent horn for a great deal! These are some excellent playing flugelhorns matching any other pro horn of modern day. 

These horns play very freely and expressively. There is a nice roundness to the sound, it is never harsh but almost piercingly sweet. This instrument would work well in a section however it would also be suitable as a soloists horn. The slotting on this instrument is very consistent and tuning through the registers is very good. This horn has some beautiful overtones and plays absolutely gorgeous at softer dynamics.  

"New York Trumpet Copany was a mixed high end retail operation and custom shop run by Felix Vayser which hand-built custom horns under the NYTC label also (very few). It appeared to go out of business in 2011
Felix Vayser earned a lot of respect for the quality of his work." Gary stoner would continue an excellent trumpet maker in his own right worked on these horns as well for a time.
