Pew-Owned Puje "SHORTAY" 

This Puje trumpet is a wonderful instrument! It was made by Brent Peters in Portland Oregon. The wait time on these instruments is typically fairly long (at least 8 - 9 mo out!) We have this horn in stock and available to ship right away!

This horn is a pre-owned instrument and it is in wonderful shape! It has no dents or dings, and has developed a lovely patina on the raw brass finish. The only signs of use on this instrument is some wear on the typical contact points of the horn. Beyond this it is in great shape and a great player. The valves work great with fantastic action and slides move comfortably as well!

Of course, the most distinguishing feature of the Puje line is the thumb ring; instead of tuning just the first valve, it tunes the whole horn! Not having to lip the sharp partials down lets you play right in the sweet spot of the tone, and gives you a little endurance boost as well.

Taylor Meets Pujé

This horn features a 2 piece bell made by Andy Taylor. Andy’s bells have that unique sound the built his brand.  Pair that with the balanced design of the Pujé and you get a horn that’s a joy to hold and hear.

The valve block is a crucial element of any trumpet, and this Puje is built around the same high quality Getzen valve block favored by many custom trumpet builders. The valves feel incredibly smooth and the plating is in great shape. You'll be focused on making music, not on the mechanics of your horn.

From Puje:

The late Bobby DeNicola is the creator of the Puje, (pronounced pudgy). He devised a way to build a hybrid horn from stock trumpet and cornet parts. His horns were reasonably priced and played well, but retained a certain hand-built aesthetic. One unique feature of the Puje is a thumb-controlled tuning slide that tunes the whole horn. I have been refining my craft and always looking for improvements, but in the end, there are only two things that I feel are requirements when I create a Puje: first, it has to be pudgy, second it must have a whole horn tuning slide. After that, there really are no limits. Just like Bobby, I will continue to experiment with the Puje design to bring you a fun and innovative instrument.
