Check out this great Yamaha 6310Z trumpet that's just arrived in the shop on consignment!
These horns are a ton of fun and are solid instruments for younger students looking for a great "step-up" horn or players looking for a strong commercial or lead sound but would also like the versatility of an "all around" horn
This horn is in good condition but does present some signs of use as it was played by an active musician;
- There is some lacquer wear around the body of the horn notably: the leadpipe, bell stem, valve block (around contact points)
- Potential very early small signs of red rot in main tuning slide
- Scratching on the inner and outer bell flare
- Few very minor pings on the bell stem
- Valve action is great and compression is excellent
- Slides move freely
From Yamaha:
"One day the jazz legend Bobby Shew came to us with an impossible dream. He wanted a “perfect” trumpet – one single horn that could play anything, from lead to ballade, from classical to jazz. We worked closely with him for many years, defining and designing his uncompromising vision, and finally turning it into form. Along the way, we had to develop some very innovative things, like the unique “step bore” design which is the heart of the Z. The Z is much more efficient than a conventional trumpet. It gives you more for your effort; more sizzle to scream lead, more power to really project, more control for those sweet mellow solos."
