ACB Doubler's Dual Trigger Large Bore Shepherd's Crook Cornet
We're very excited to offer a dual trigger shepherd's crook cornet in our Doubler's line! We spent a lot of time and iterations working with the factory to get these cornets just how we wanted them, and now these horns are definitely a keeper! Perfect with a short shank mouthpiece (the ACB short shank cornet mouthpiece is pictured) this horn has a wonderfully rich sound and very smooth response. It has a .468 bore, a standard throat 4 3/4 inch bell, and dual triggers. This is a perfect option for the player who just signed up for Brass Band and doesn't want to spend 3-4K on a world-class cornet. Check this horn out!

Our customers are really enjoying these cornets! Check out some of the reviews below, like this one:
"This cornet is a fine instrument. The valve action is fast and crisp, the horn slots well and the range is excellent. Josh was certainly right when he told me it was unbeatable at this price point. I own a number of cornets (purchased used) that all play well, but not better than this one. This will be my number one pick for my work in parades (over ½ dozen each summer) and for performances of my Dixieland Band, which performs many times per year. I am perfectly satisfied with the Doubler’s!" -Elmo
In this mini-lesson, Trent talks about doubling on different instruments and gives some practice strategies and advice on switching between horns:

ACB Doubler Cornet (Large Bore)
I bought this horn with a Satin finish with the doubler piccolo from a friend online. It plays better than any cornet I've ever played PERIOD. From Bach to Bessons to Conn to Holton, you name it... These horns CAN'T be beat, especially for the price. I play repiano part in a local brass band and the large bore works perfectly--It also sounds great in jazz combos. The blow is smooth and open like a trumpet, the slots are fantastic, and the horn has pretty consistent intonation. The sound is open, dark, and mellow... Articulation has depth. The doubler cornet is like a perfect in-between of trumpet and flugelhorn. (Which I have the doubler of that, too!) The unbranded mouthpiece it comes with is fine as well if you're aiming for a fatter, more trumpety sound from time to time. For $500 you won't find a better horn! Thanks again ACB!!

Absolutely fantastic horn at an unbeatable price!
I was in the market for a good cornet I could play in a variety of different settings and ensembles, and at a reasonable cost, which is a hard thing to find! At first, looking at a $400-500 brand new cornet is a little suspicious, especially when there's used pro horns out there for a little more, but I was more than pleasantly surprised when I received this horn! It plays like a dream - free blowing with a lovely dark tone, great for a British Brass Band and solo playing. This cornet plays and feels near identical to a Yamaha Xeno cornet I had a while back, and for only a fraction of the cost! My buddies had a go at it and even they, all mainly orchestral/jazz trumpet players loved it and it's ease of playing. A few of them were already sold on it and wanted one for themselves! Now I cant walk into rehearsal without them wanting to have a quick play on it! Top of the line cornet for a great price, the ACB customer support was astounding and dealt with any problems I had very quickly and professionally. 100% would reccomend!

excellent horn
I bought this cornet just under a month ago. I really like having the dual triggers to help tune on the fly, as I have small hands/fingers, so manual slides got to be cumbersome. The triggers make it so easy! I bought the regular lacquer finish horn. It is beautiful. I am an intermediate player, and I find that this horn is easy to keep in tune. Particularly I have had trouble with other horns when valves 1 and 2 are used together, but not this horn. Of course, I have to listen and lip up/down depending on the key signature, but overall, not nearly as much. The tone is exactly what I expected-- right in between a trumpet and flugelhorn. The price point for this horn is very reasonable. My friends were surprised at the price given the quality of the horn. The case comes with both a shoulder strap and the ability to use in a back pack configuration. I like that the ACB team stands behind their products and is only a phone call away-- no horrible phone tree to navigate.

review Dual Trigger Cornet
I love the new horn. It has the rich sound I like from silver. It plays easily, has a good sound. The triggers are a bit hard to pull in, but they may loosen over time. Customer service was spectacular and friendly. I would buy from Austin brass again and recommend them to anyone.

Spectacular cornet for a spectacular price!!
I received my ACB Doubler's Dual trigger cornet (in lacquer) about a week ago and I absolutely love it! Feels verrry close to what you would get out of a professional-line cornet quality-wise, besides the drastic difference in price. Trent has done a phenomenal job on his ACB Doubler's horns (I bought a Doubler's flugel a few years back), and it does not surprise me that his line of horns and other accessories have been getting great reviews. Would definitely recommend this to a friend!

ACB Doublers Dual Trigger Cornet (silver plate)
I don’t play cornet much, but when I do, I would much rather play on a professional grade horn. I knew for Trent to put his name on the horn, this one must be good, so I ordered one without ever trying it out. I’m so glad I did—it plays just as good, if not better than horns I’ve played that were 5x the cost! Looking forward to many happy years of gigs on this fantastic looking/playing horn!

ACB Doubler's Dual Trigger Large Bore Cornet
Purchased this horn as a companion to my trumpets. Fit and finish as well as responsiveness are superior to instruments costing many times more. Valves are very responsive and quiet. As a comeback player, I cannot more highly recommend this cornet. I also appreciated the help from Josh in the order process.

Way better than I had hoped
Plays very easily and free. Intonation is pretty solid, but a touch flat in the normal 3rd partial for me. The most important part is the quality of sound is spot on. Blend is very easy with the other cornets playing pro-quality instruments. This horn, well out-performs its price.

Very Nice Cornet!
This instrument feels like a much more expensive cornet than the price tag shows. The large bore and dual triggers are wonderful. The tone is great and I'm very pleased with the ease of the higher register. This is exactly what I was looking for. Thank you!
