Schagerl James Morrison JMIX-L BB
I am blessed with having a substantial collection of trumpets and Flugel horns that I play on a regular basis at gigs ranging from a capella to jazz , pop and classical. I play a 1922 Conn brothers, a 1954 Martin Committee, a 1970 Bach Strad, an Adams A4, an Adams Copernicus and a Shires BL. All are terrific horns and range from bright to dark. I did not know that Schagerl produced piston trunpets until I saw them on the Austin Brass website after purchasing the Copernicus from them. I know musicians that play Schagerl rotary horns and have love the distinct warmth yet projection in the classical setting. From the moment I took my new Schagerl out of its solid and beautiful case and held it, it felt solid and balanced. The valve action and slotting is perfect and the range from the lowest to a screaming register is is effortless and supported, I have not played it at a gig as yet but its brightness to dark and moody will be perfect for any gig.. I have paid two and three times the price for other horns so not only is this horn relatively affordable it will be a joy to own. Thank you Schagerl and the unique and highly professional Austin Brass.

Schagerl James MorrisonJMIX LBB
I am blessed with an extensive collection of trumpets I play routinely each for different musical genres. I play a 1922 Conn, 1954 Martin Committee , 1970 Stradivarius, Adams gold brass A4, , Adams Copper Copernicus, a Shires and now the. Schagerl. They are all terrific sounding horns,, some bright, other subdued. Some better for classical, others pop and others jazz. The Schagerl is now my all around horn. Bright but mellow and moody, superbly fast valves and slotting and solid in both lower register and above high c screaming . I did not know Schagerl produced piston trumpets until I saw them on the Austin Brass website. I immediately ordered one and AB , as always, were timely and efficient in processing my order and getting it to me safe and sound. Thank you Schagerl and Austin Brass!!!!
