The XO 1634RLT is ideally suited to jazz and commercial environments.
The XO 1634 was designed in collaboration with the amazing trombonist John Fedchock. The XO 1634 is designed to his specific preferences and concepts of sound and playability. It is easily one of the best small bore trombones on the market!
The XO 1634 is a .508 bore (like a King 3B). It plays freely with easy connection to all ranges. It has larger sound that the XO 1632 and plays a little darker (regardless of the brass choice) than the 1632. The slide is wonderful and quick! The XO 1634 has a wonderful tone that has great core while having outstanding clarity and projection. The sounds is a classic jazz trombone soloist ala JJ Johnson and the like. Articulations are communicated clearly from the bell. It is easy to be comfortable playing trombone. It is lightweight and designed to be comfortable to hold, which is great during a long night of playing because the horn won't tire you out holding it. This is a true professional trombone in every sense!

Some players prefer rose brass not only because of the darker color but because the extra copper in can be very excitable in the upper register and louder volumes while retaining a smokey and romantic quality in the middle/lower registers and medium to softer volumes.
Some players prefer the consistency of tone in all registers and volumes that yellow brass provides
